Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that gently removes cells in the upper-most
layer of your skin. It is a safe, gentle treatment that evens out the texture of your skin
and reduces fine lines and age spots. Microdermabrasion is currently the number two
non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the U.S. There is a difference in grade of machine used in this technique, and we only use the state of the art Aestilliesse Medical Grade Microdermabrasion system from Lumenis, which can only be used in a physician’s office under the direct supervision of a certified physician.
How Microdermabrasion Works
As you age, cell renewal begins to slow down making your skin appear dull and lifeless.
Flaky skin, dark spots, and fine lines begin to appear. Microdermabrasion uses micro-crystals
to remove superficial dead cells and polish your skin making it healthier, firmer and
younger looking. The gentle abrasive action of the crystals is efficient and provides
reliable results for even the most delicate skin.
Microdermabrasion is generally painless and can be used on any skin color and condition.
Used in a series, it will minimize acne scars and stretch marks. We recommend this
treatment because it carries low risk of side effects and allows you to return to your
normal activities immediately.
Benefits of Microdermabrasion
Over time, Microdermabrasion improves the overall appearance of your skin and
will:
- Diminish age spots and hyper-pigmentation
- Decrease the appearance of large pores and acne scarring
- Reduce fine lines
- Relieve clogged pores and blackheads
Microdermabrasion is recommended for those who have sensitivities to chemicals
and make-up. You're a candidate for microdermabrasion if you don't want to take time
off from work or other outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, or skiing. At our office, microdermabrasion is typically administered in series of 4-6
treatments. Very often, we use microdermabrasion in conjunction with other anti-aging
treatments to affect spectacular results.
